The mansion which was commissioned by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1472 is one of the most ancient examples of civil architecture in Istanbul.
The Tiled Kiosk Museum which was used as Empire Museum between the years of 1875-1891, was opened to public as Fatih Museum where Turkish and Islamic art works were displayed. The entrance of the mansion is a one storey and the backside part is two storey structures, and there is a 14-column marble porch on the entrance.
The mansion whose antechamber is decorated with mosaic china work has 6 rooms and one central hall and feature various china work and ceramics of Selcuk and Ottoman period.
